Specifically, Reis’ work promotes the growth of pediatric primary care knowledge, physician communication skills, and the doctor-patient relationship. She has created and led numerous teaching programs focused on improving health care for children and supporting the professional development of trainees and colleagues. Reis is an experienced academic general pediatrician and accomplished leader in medical education. In 2018, Reis was appointed the inaugural Associate Dean for the Learning Environment. In 1994, she joined the faculty of the Division of General Academic Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and later earned a secondary appointment in Clinical and Translational Science. Following fellowship training, Reis joined the faculty of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where she served as Director of In-Patient Pediatrics at St. She completed her pediatric residency training at the Children’s Hospital in Boston and fellowship training in the General Pediatric Academic Development program at Johns Hopkins University. Reis received her Bachelor of Arts as an Echols Scholar from the University of Virginia and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Harvard Medical School.
Reis is a professor of pediatrics and clinical and translational science and the Associate Dean for the Learning Environment at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and an attending physician at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
